International Recognition

BHEL Tiruchirapalli was the first Public Sector engineering and manufacturing organization in India to get the ISO 9001 certification for its Quality Management systems in 1993.

Now the BHEL Tiruchirapalli Complex is ISO 14001 certificated for Environment Management Systems, ISO 27001 certified for Information Security Management Systems and OHSAS 18001 certified for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

BHEL Tiruchirapalli is also authorized to use the ASME ‘S’, ‘U’ and ‘U2’ stamps, the API ‘6A’, ‘6D’, ‘17D’, ‘5L’ and 5CT’ monograms and the National Board ‘R’ stamp on various products.

Unique facilities

Sophisticated testing facilities include the 4 Million Electron Volt High Energy Linear Accelerator for radiography of large vessels, Helium Leak Testing, impact and tensile testing and hydro test facilities.

The Calibration Centre and Plant Lab are certified by NABL under ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

Quality Circles

Over 250 quality circles function at BHEL Tiruchirappalli which was the pioneer in introducing the Quality Circle movement to improve quality and productivity at its works several decades ago.
